Welcome to the Team Emily Martin!
A few words of introduction from Emily Martin, the new Resources and Infrastructure Associate at the Environment Office
"Aanii, my name is Emily Martin and I have started my position at the Environment Office as the Resources and Infrastructure Associate. I was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo. My Mom’s family is from Oxford County and Perth County and my Dad’s family is from the Elmira area. My Grandparents also farmed for a short time near Goderich. I studied at the University of Guelph and throughout my life have spent as much time on the Saugeen Peninsula as possible. I have spent the last few years living in Whitehorse, Yukon where I worked mostly as a researcher and consultant for the Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation. I also worked for a short time for the Yukon Government regarding consultation and mining. My work has always been focused on lands governance and First Nation’s consultation for development in their territories. I have always loved the Saugeen Peninsula and no matter where I am in the world, can’t help but talk about it, especially the waters in Georgian Bay. I already love SON’s Territory and look forward to getting to know your community more!"
